Fighting for the Future of Exploration in NSW - the Latest on Land Access and other Regulatory Reforms
The NSW Minerals Council has been in the trenches fighting for the future
of mineral exploration in NSW. Sue-Ern Tan, the NSWMC Deputy CEO, will
give an up to the minute review on the land access issues and the
Mining Act Amendment. She will outline the latest development on a new
template for Land Access Agreements.
In addition to land access there
are other regulatory reforms which will directly affect exploration in
NSW. Amendments to Aboriginal cultural heritage regulation will
necessitate a due diligence review prior to exploration activities.
I&I NSW (previously NSW Department of Primary Industries) is also
finalising a new Mining Act Regulation which will change the category
system and bring other modifications to exploration procedures.
The
Henry Tax Review had some good news for explorers but little for
miners.
So is it still worth exploring in NSW?
